I have owned the PRO 20's for about vi months. I am a bass histrion and am very happy with the sound of these IEMs.
Riley, my Sweetwater rep suggested these and they have delivered. I play in a church building worship band so we are not talking super loud here. I formally used Sony studio head phones every bit suggested by several bass players I met at the bass store here in Arizona. Since this did not seal off the ambient sound that well I could nevertheless hear a lot of sound from the principal PA speakers. With the IEMs it sealed things off much better and I could hear every thing more clearly peculiarly the bass! I just wasn't sure if IEMs could carry bass well simply these do a fine job. At present you are non going to experience the thump in your breast but with a proper monitor mix yous will hear it very well. These IEMs have really given me a new lease on musical life. Thank you lot Riley!
I had a set of Westone'southward several yrs ago, for a worship band I was playing in. I found out about Westone from Paul Baloche, at one of his 2-twenty-four hours worship music workshops, as he is a well-known Christian songwriter and artist. So I bought a pair, merely a lesser grade than these, only were corking. They somewhen wore out. SO, I was talked into trying a pair of SE215 Shure's, and although good sound-wise, were the most hard pair of in-ears I've ever endemic, and the way you have to get them on, is a existent pain and too time consuming, as at that place are also many moving parts at the ear location. I should have know better, if there are a number of You lot Tube videos with "instructions" on how to use them! SO, I decided to purchase these, when I saw their terrific discount. I have also since compared them with the Shure'south I still accept, and the difference is incredible. Besides the dual drivers create about a 20-25% increment in volume just equally they are, keeping the same volume levels on the Behringer Power xvi monitor. And then information technology looks like I volition stick with Westone's from now on. Never should have left!
I have been using the Westone UM-20'southward since May of this year playing bass and/or lead guitar as role of a church music squad. Prior to using these in-ear monitors I had tried the Shure SE-215 IEM's. The Westone IEM'due south are much more authentic and have a much better fit than the Shure model. I love the Westone IEM's, they sound not bad, are comfortable, sonically accurate, and have held up well to a weekly rehearsal and performance schedule.
Fantastic in-ears for the toll. These have a very flat, authentic frequency response. Every bit a guitarist, that means I"chiliad confident that the tone I hear in my in-ears volition translate well in the firm.
I want to answer to a February "18 review critical of the bass response. A number of explanations and remedies. If the fit isn"t tight... equally a reviewer in a different site said, "if there is even a small leak of air into the ear canal" ... the bass response volition be very unsatisfying. The key is finding the best possible fit. An array of different sized cream and neoprene(?) tips are included. Westone calls them "audio isolating star and truthful-fit tips."

But the issue that the February reviewer responded to may be this: the bass response is very precise. I would call information technology tight. Folks who seek a larger-than-life, pillowy bass response should expect elsewhere. You should also know that earbuds as accurate and un-colored as these are gonna make axiomatic all the flaws in a 2nd-class recording.

I guess it"southward articulate that I love these earbud monitors. Simply they"re different than earbuds i have known. They"re monitoring headphones and they"re shining characteristics are targeted to a specialized corner of the market.
