Can You Pay Monthly With Elephant Car Insurance

People let me know if you've had pay monthly insurance on elephant! If so, how much more was it on monthly than if you paid it in 1 go.

I've got a fully comp quote for 12 months for £1550... and i'm wondering how much it would be on pay monthly.

Thanks

I'm older than 20, have held my license for over a year , yet Elephant quoted me £4800 tpft! wereas other companies I have got quotes of about £2000.

To answer your question though to pay monthly, about an extra £300 - £500 max.
if you go back on Elephant to where you got your quote, next to your annual quote of £1550 you will see another quote that will say, monthly installments, say 1 deposit of £420 followed by 11x (say) £140 brings it to £1900 (not saying this quotation adds up to ) ,

Best going online and having a look, you should see it straight away

Probably around £1800-£1900.

I'm on elephant/admiral (same company), and to get my insurance down (bit off topic, but anyway), i put my voluntary excess to £1,000. Brought my insurance quote down by about £300.

Only bad thing though is if you have an accident, your gonna have to cough up a fair amount of money.

Try this, as you will end up saving more (hopefully) money!

Doesn't say that for me, it tells me to call up for a monthly quote. I tried last year for my first years insurance and they turned me down. May try again this year though.

Oh, because when i (well i got my mum to do haggle) rang up, they said i could put my voluntary excess to £1,000.

I don't know if they've reduced the maximum excess you can have on your policy, because it can be seen as a way of getting your insurance down by a fair amount.

Have you tried a multi car policy?

You can register your car on the policy, starting now. The second car, can start when 'X' person's policy runs out, say september.

If a member of your family is willing to do this, then I'm sure you'll receive a lower quote.

Sorry if this didn't help.

Just making sure you don't end up paying too much for your car insurance!

With monthly insurance the credit company will want a cut too. Typically, the total premium you will pay monthly is an extra 10%
Usually the deposit will be 2 months worth of payments and you wont pay anything the last month of the insurance.

So, on a quote of 1550 it'll work out something like:

Total premium payable : £1705
Deposit: £284.16
+ 10 monthly payments of £142.08

There or there abouts depending on whether you have any add ons e.g drive other cars, agreed valuation, chargable breakdown cover etc etc...

If it makes you feel any better it will go down when you're a little older. My insurance is £11 a month and I'm 25.

Cheers for that, helpful.

Of course you can drive another car.. if you have access to one and you have valid insurance for it...

I'm going to assume in your 7 year old thread bump you meant whether your insurance policy covers you to drive other cars - the answer to that is... look at your insurance certificate!
